Bathyswath-2
Bathyswath-2 has been in use since 2015. It gives excellent performance and reliability in a small, low-power package with 3 frequency options (117, 234 & 468 kHz).
Bathyswath-2 gives wide swath widths; this increases survey speeds significantly, especially in shallow water. It has three frequencies: 117, 234 or 468 kHz with respectively 400, 200 and 100m maximum ranges. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said: “Operating swath of the bathymetric system ranged from 15 to 20 times water depth in in depths less than 15m”.
Unlike Bathyswath-3, Bathyswath-2 works on a single sonar frequency, which can be user selected at run-time, and has one, two, or three separate sonar transducers. It therefore has fewer operational features than Bathyswath-3, but its simpler construction can be useful in some applications.
Different configurations for different uses
– Bathyswath-2 Underwater (Subsea Unit)
– Bathyswath-2 Standard (Deck Unit)
– Bathyswath-2 OEM (for OEM integration)
Bathyswath-2 Standard
Bathyswath-2 STD system is our standard version, it consists of:
- The Deck Unit (DU) in painted and anodized aluminum. It is IP66 and includes the sounder electronics for 1, 2 or 3 transducers

- An optional Sound Velocity Sensor (miniSVS)
- One or two transducers (234 or 468 kHz)
- An umbilical (20m by default, longer or shorter on demand)
To complete the bathymetric “package”, you will also need the following ancillary devices:
- A GNSS receiver
– Double antenna for the heading value and PPS for the GPS time
– RTK (Rover) or satellite correction services (Omnistar, Atlas, etc.) or GSM for centimetric position - A sound velocity profiler for the speed of sound in the water column
