Bathyswath-3

Bathyswath-3 has a completely new design and electronics platform giving improved performance in a fully integrated system.

Small, compact and innovative, the Bathyswath-3 goes beyond the performance of the Bathyswath-2 with these new features:

▪ Wideband (chirp) sonar technology
▪ 3 sonar frequencies simultaneously, in bathymetry and sidescan
▪ Fully integrated bathymetric system (sonar, INS/MRU, GNSS, Sound Velocity Sensor, Single-board computer)

Different configurations for different uses

  • B3A : Bathyswath-3 ALPHA Subsea Unit (Fully integrated solution)
  • B3S : Bathyswath-3 SIGMA (sonar only solution)
  • B3OEM : Bathyswath-3 OEM (sonar only solution in OEM configuration)

Bathyswath-3 SIGMA B (B3S-B)

Fully integrated solution

Bathyswath-3 SIGMA B (B3S-B) is an integrated module, including INS for motion sensing, GNSS for measuring position, a Sound Velocity Sensor, and an integrated single-board computer to aid integration with external software packages. It is ideal for mounting on a pole over the side of a boat, or for fixing underneath a USV.

Bathyswath-3 SIGMA A (B3S-A)

Sonar only solution

Bathyswath-3 SIGMA A (B3S-A) is designed for applications that need a small sonar package. It is ideal for use on small USVs, or on a lightweight survey pole.

The sonar electronics is integrated into the sonar head, so a small, flexible cable is used to connect it to the surface.

If the vessel or vehicle has its own computer, motion, and navigation sensors, then the B3S-A box can be directly connected through the power, Ethernet, and timing connections in its cable.
If an integrated system is needed, then consider B3S-B, or add the ITER Systems Navbox.

Bathyswath-3 OEM

Sonar only solution in OEM configuration

Bathyswath-3 OEM has the core components provided as a package of parts for integration in clients’ vessels and vehicles, including Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs).

It works with the Bathyswath-3 “pod” transducers, and with the Bathyswath-2 single-side, single-frequency transducers; see Bathyswath-2-OEM. Other transducer types are available on request.
